Online Student Places 2nd Nationally in IBM Mainframe Competition

For the second consecutive year, Jay Thomas, an online student in Seidenberg’s NACTEL program for telecommunications workers, competed in IBM’s Master the Mainframe Contest.  This year he completed the “extremely difficult and time-consuming” Part 3 and placed 2nd in a field of over 3,500 competitors. Stellar Students Inducted into UPE Honor Society

On October 19, 50 outstanding Seidenberg students and one faculty member were inducted into the New York Delta Chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) at Pace University. In the opening of the induction ceremony, Sotiris Skevoulis, professor of computer science, gave a talk on “Software Engineering: The Road to Rigorous Software Development, Education and Practice”. Dean Knapp Confers Degrees at Graduation in Bangalore

Constance Knapp, interim dean, spent the year-end holiday in India. Accompanied by Narayan Murthy, PhD, and Daniel Farkas,PhD, chairs of the Westchester computer science and information technology departments, respectively, she conferred degrees on the 15 students who recently completed MS in Internet Technology degrees. For the past two years, these students, all employees of AOL/India, took courses online along with their fellow classmates in the U.S.  Continue reading “Dean Knapp Confers Degrees at Graduation in Bangalore”
