Anastasia “Staci” Burke, MS/IS ’10, received an all expense paid scholarship to attend this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing to be held in Tucson, Arizona beginning September 30. “Creating Technology for Social Good” is the theme of this year’s gathering.
Staci also attended last year’s event where she met and connected with a number of women who are pursuing careers and studies in computing in a non-traditional manner. They stayed in touch over the year and have collaborated on “NonTrads: Women Following a Non-traditional Path in Pursuit of a Technical Degree and Career,” a “Birds of a Feather” session to be presented this year.
Staci is currently a part-time graduate student in Seidenberg’s MS in Information Systems program. As a graduate assistant under the direction of Interim Dean Constance Knapp, she teaches a certification course in A+ to Seidenberg students. She also teaches for the Pace Computer Learning Center.
