Faculty Member Receives IBM Smarter Planet Innovation Grant

Christelle ScharffProfessor Christelle Scharff is one of only 50 faculty throughout the world to receive an IBM Smarter Planet Innovation Grant. The $10,000 grant will be used to further collaboration among students at  Pace with students from universities in Cambodia, India and Senegal to develop mobile and Web solutions to pressing global problems in transportation, health care and education. PCLC Expands Adobe Offerings

The Pace Computer Learning Center has been an Adobe Authorized Training Center since 2006 and continues to grow and expand their Adobe technology offerings.  As an Adobe Authorized Training Center, PCLC has to meet high Adobe standards for their training facilities and may only use Adobe Certified Instructors to teach Adobe classes. Gary Butler, CEO of ADP, to be Honored at Annual Fund-raiser

Gary C. Butler, president and CEO of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP), will be honored for his outstanding leadership and numerous contributions to the field of information technology at the upcoming Leadership and Service in Technology (LST) Award Reception sponsored by the Seidenberg School.  The reception, an annual event, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22, and will once again be held at the midtown headquarters of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Three Resident Advisers Pitch “Reslutions” – A Winning Idea

2nd Annual Community College Programming Contest

Snatching the reins from Orange County Community College, winner of last year’s Annual Community College Programming Contest, Robert Lee and Justin Okamoto of Rockland Community College placed 1st this year by successfully completing six out of nine problems with an overall score of 28. CLOUT Program Receives President’s Award for Excellence

The five members of the CLOUT program’s administrative staff – Lynne Larkin, Faith Faulk, Linda Pennachio, Christina Pocchiari and Marie Iadavaia – were honored for their teamwork with the President’s Award for Excellence at the Employee Recognition Ceremonies held in White Plains on March 18.  The team was recognized for its tireless efforts to preserve the CLOUT program in the face of threatened debilitating cost cuts.
