PCLC Renamed

The Pace Computer Learning Center, Seidenberg’s division for Continuing Education and Professional Development, has changed its name.  Now called the Pace Center for Business and Technology, it offers an expanded menu of courses and certification programs in iPhone and Android apps, Microsoft Office, project management, accounting, business analysis, Adobe applications, Web design, graphic digital design, technical classes, solar panel design and installation and more. Seidenberg Bids Farewell to its First Class of Scholars

This May, the Seidenberg School graduated its first class of Seidenberg Scholars, actively recruited high school graduates who attended Pace both as Pforzheimer Honors College students and as invited participants in the prestigious Seidenberg Scholars program. Annual Leadership Award Gala a Great Success

Nearly 200 people, including members of the Pace and professional IT communities, came together to honor Gary Butler, president and CEO of Automatic Data Processing (ADP), at this year’s Leadership and Service in Technology Award Reception.  The event, which took place on Wednesday, June 22 at PricewaterhouseCoopers headquarters in Midtown, generated more than $135,000 for student scholarships and select scholarly initiatives.

Pace Welcomes Adobe Certified Expert Design Master


The Pace University Center for Business and Technology welcomes Eugenio Solis de Ovando, an Adobe Certified Expert Design Master, to its teaching staff.  Students in his Digital Publications class learn to create and publish interactive content for mobile devices and high profile sites like iTunes and Amazon. Mobile Solutions for Smarter Cities Competition

Contestants participating in the recent Mobile Solutions for Smarter Cities competition organized by the Seidenberg Mobile Lab had five weeks to build an application relating to public services like transportation, education, health care, energy and human services and submit a video demo.  A team of five judges declared Palak Shah, MS/CS ’12 the 1st place winner for her Smarter City Ranking application.  Second and 3rd place winners were David Gethers, MS/IT ‘12 and Eric Greene, MS/CS ‘13, respectively. Seidenberg Institute for Computing Innovation Launched

Seidenberg Faculty PhotoEleven Seidenberg faculty members and six faculty from other academic institutions in the area, participated in the first gathering of the Seidenberg Institute for Computing Innovation (SICI) held at the Graduate Center (WP) in mid-May.  Established by Professors Lixin Tao and Li-Chiou Chen, the SICI is a faculty development forum for sharing information and materials on the latest computing technologies and on how to integrate hands-on labs on specific topics into the curriculum.  The event was well received.  Future plans include expanding participation to involve students and Seidenberg alumni as well encouraging interaction on an ongoing basis through the creation of a SICI Web site.
