Fourteen IBM India employees are pursuing an M.S. in Computer Science under a newly formed partnership between the University and the corporation. The students, who are scattered all over India, take classes online along with their counterparts in the U.S. and are expected to complete their degrees in five semesters. The name of Marius Agica, a senior majoring in both computer science and economics, appeared in The New York Times’ bridge column on September 7. Marius, a native of Romania, plays bridge competitively for his home country. Over the summer, he and his partner, Radu Nistor, placed third in both the Teams and Pairs events at the World Youth Congress held in Croatia. The Seidenberg School welcomes Stephanie Elson as the new Academic Program Supervisor on the New York City campus. She comes to her new position with over 10 years of experience in advising students on achieving academic and professional success. Previously, she worked for Career Services and for the Cooperative Education Program at Pace and for Georgia State University before returning to Pace.

Beginning fall 2011, John Vincent Monaco, who prefers to be called “Vinnie,” will continue his studies towards both a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Mathematics, with the support of a full scholarship from the U.S. Department of Defense’s prestigious Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP). Vinnie is one of only 18 students nationwide to receive this coveted award this year.
